Year 12 and 13 DP Geographers were given the exciting opportunity to go and listen to Hans Rosling talk at the WTO on Wednesday. Hans Rosling is a Professor of International Health at Karolinska Institute in Sweden and he foundered the website www.gapminder.org. He is particularly fascinating as he is able to use and manipulate complex data in an interesting and informative way. During lessons the geographers will have used gapminder to illustrate their ideas and listened to numerous TED talks presented by Hans Rosling on population change. The talk itself was fascinating and focused on the impact a changing population has on the dynamic health care system. He was also able to dispel common myths such as the amount of people who had access to electricity and education.
Thank you to Mr. Taubman for giving is the chance to attend this conference.
