Year 7 - Wonderful World

The first Year 7 unit focuses on what makes a place unique. Students explore the concepts of systems, evidence, patterns and relationships and ask questions such as what sources of evidence are there and what counts as evidence;how do we collect evidence fairly; how do we use evidence; how can we know when we know enough to make a judgement; how should we use evidence and expert opinion to make sustainable decisions about real places and issues? The culminating assessment will be a model and presentation of research about the futures of a real “wonderful place” using the idea of possible, preferable and probable futures to discuss how special places we love need to be managed to protect them from natural and human induced change. The examples below are from Mr. Bawden's group.
