Year 9 - Cost-Benefit Analysis of Tourism

The Year 9s have been exploring what tourism is and why countries would like to develop this industry. Part of this was to investigate the impact that tourism can have - both positively and negatively. To do this the students watch two clips and made notes using padlet an online sharing tool. The were then divided into four teams to focus on either the Social, Environmental, Economic or Political impacts. The teams then rotated to add to their peers thoughts. Below is a series of photographs which show the students at work and the final products. They will use their findings to write an opinion piece on whether a tourist attraction like Disneyland should be built in the area where they live.
