In the final exams for DP Geography students are asked to write a number of essays which analyse or discuss the 'big ideas' that we have studied throughout the two years. To get the students confident in essay writing the geographer teachers spend quite some time discussing structure and expectations. To help with this process students critique each others work and suggest improvements. During Mr. Reid's lesson he encouraged group peer assessment for an essay that focused on development:
